Brain & Nerd Placement 2022

From the start of August 2021 to Feb 2022 I had my Placement with Brain & Nerd. Throughout the placement, I had a fantastic experience with the team and learned new ways to create my models. I grew as a 3D artist in ways I thought I couldn't. I had the opportunity to work on two projects on which Brain & Nerd is currently working, Hortalius and Incubator. Two different styles where I had to adapt when working on these projects, however, I enjoyed the challenge. This includes hard-surface models and organic, where I gained further experience and confidence in Zbrush.

All models were made in Blender, and textured in Substance Painter.
All were taken into consideration in terms of polycount/texture quality to work with the Unity Engine.

Hortalius consisted of realism with a mix of stylised, you can see some of these models below.

Organic modelling was important for Hortalius, as vast amounts of vegetables were needed. These were made in Zbrush.

You can see that Incubator's style is very different to Hortalius's art style, I had to adapt quickly to suit the current style of the game.
