Update on Environment Part 2

Work In Progress / 01 August 2021

Heya everyone! I thought to give you all another update on the environment. Down below you can see the latest render. I added a few more assets into the scene, such as the flag, clock and lighting. Overall lighting is not finished as of yet as there are a few dark patches that needs attention. I redid the post-processing on the scene to create a darker and more horror tone. Overall however I am happy with the look currently, and will post another update once I have some filler assets in the scene!

Thanks again for looking! :D

A little Update!

Work In Progress / 20 July 2021

Heya All! Sorry that I have been quiet for a while. Thought to take a small break for summer. I have been starting to make a small environment to bring me back into the swing of things. Down below is a WIP of my latest scene, a classroom with a little extra horror sprinkled over it. Still very early however I will post more in the future once that's done! Thanks again for sticking by! <3

Update on Environment

Work In Progress / 03 March 2020

Hey everyone, just thought to update you all on my current environment. It is going along great, but it is still early days. Got more assets to include and generally setting up the mood. Any feedback is greatly appreciated.

Environment Lighting in Maya

Work In Progress / 24 October 2019

Hi everyone, sorry i haven't been posting much. I've been doing a bit of animation lately and just thought to try and light my scene in Maya using the Arnold render to see how it would turn out. These are the results. This is just an update post.

WIP Update - Terminal Hub Environment

Work In Progress / 10 September 2019

Hi everyone and sorry for not posting updates on my environment for so long. The environment is not finished yet as I have a few more assets to add in. However at the minute it starting to come together nicely. The main mesh (the centre table) is not complete as I want to include my full time into this mesh. However overall, I am happy the way the environment is looking now.

If you any questions, ask away and if you want to provide feedback, do that to.

Latest Environment - Terminal Hub

Work In Progress / 30 June 2019

Hi All! Just wanted to let you all know that there is a new environment currently in the works. This time it will be sci fi based; with the main setting being as a terminal hub which could be in a ship or just a general building. Down below you will be able to see the initial blockout of the environment that was made in Maya; the final environment scene will be completed in Unreal Engine 4. Now with the blockout completed I can plan further of what is needed to be completed, as in more props and materials. It will be a while before I post another update, cheers for looking! Also if you are wondering, the ball in the centre will be a hologram of a planet of some sorts, I will pick something suitable in the future.

Update on current affairs

Work In Progress / 07 March 2019

Hi all, so I know that i have not posted anything in a long time. This is because I have been working on a new environment; this environment is a subway station which can be seen as abandoned or barely used. This environment is no where near completion, however I think that since I now have gotten the main layout of the environment completed, I can show you the progress, it is only one image, as I don't want to share too much of it yet. Currently, I am really happy with it, but I still have a lot more to add and further detail to make. If you want to know, the current engine I am using, is Unreal. My modelling programs for this project is Maya and for texturing I am used Substance Painter and Designer. Thanks for tuning in and keeping up with my progress. If you have any questions of the environment, ask away. Thanks.

Environment Update

Work In Progress / 17 December 2018

Here is another small update on the environment, this time it is rendered in Arnold in Maya to add some further detail to the scene. This just allows me to see the environment in different applications to see if something is off, or that it works well. From my point of view, I am very happy with how the environment is looking so far, I still have lots to do, but this is it for now.

If anyone is wondering, all textures are 2K (2048, 2048) all made in Substance Painter. The total poly count for this environment is currently 290,000 faces.

If you have any questions, please ask away.

Update on the Environment

Work In Progress / 09 December 2018

So it has been a while since my blog post about starting my new environment. And so I thought to show you some progress on the environment. So far, I have almost completed the main elevator section, I just have to complete some final assets to complete it. Overall, I am very happy with how the environment is looking so far. I have learned a lot and learned a lot of new tools to make my asset creation work faster, and to add further detail in lesser time. I know the lighting is not the best, however this is just test lighting to make the scene have some kind of life to it. I'm still so early in the environments development, but I am enjoying every minute of it. Thanks for keeping up with me!

Rock Study

Work In Progress / 22 November 2018

For my next environment, I will be doing a God of War inspired Valkyrie room. These are the rooms that you see when entering the hidden chambers of Odin. Anyway, here are some of the test models before starting the environment. I wanted to know the Santa Monica Studio workflow before starting and so these two models are the result of that workflow. The rock material was also important to make, as rock in God of War is absolutely beautifully done. If you want to give any feedback, fire away but please not on the shape of the model as these were just for test. I want feedback for the rock detail i.e. the normal map and the rock material which I made in substance painter. This is will be one big environment so it will take a month or so. I cant wait to start.
